When asked for the comment, the editor had this to say: Hate to throw the little guy under the bus, but Scruffy wasn't pulling his weight, and the Peki-poo was running everything. Without him, it's impossible to continue. The site will remain open as a glorious monument to the tremendous amount of talent and humor accumulated, but the publication has run its course.
What we want: original, unpublished literary humor in all its forms. All genres are considered. We especially appreciate humor that is used to illuminate a greater truth. Send only your best work. Aim to surprise us and, above all, make us laugh!
What we don't want: anything racist, sexist, obscene or offensive to a specific group of people in any way.
Prose: fiction or non-fiction between 100 and 4,000 words. We like fully-realized characters and clever plots that grab the reader immediately. If you've already read all the work on the site and are still unsure about whether or not something is right for us, it probably isn't but, feel free to send us a query anyways.
Images: Cartoons with New Yorker flair would be welcome. Payment is negotiable.
Poetry: Well-crafted verse. If it doesn't make us laugh out loud at least once, we probably won't publish it. Even if it is, judged on its own merit as a poem, phenomenal.
All submissions should be sent to Ericshysterics [at] gmail [dot] com. Attachments in DOC or RTF formats are fine. Please put CATEGORY (i.e., fiction, poetry) and SUBMISSION in the subject of the email. Simultaneous submissions are okay, but please notify us immediately when work is accepted elsewhere.
RESPONSE TIMES: We hate getting rejection letters, and sending them is time consuming. If we don't contact you about your submission in a week, it's a safe bet we're not interested. Sorry to be so impersonal.

Compensation:
We firmly believe in artists being compensated for their work, even if the amount we can afford at this time is nominal. Payment is $15 per piece, which buys first online and ebook rights. We only award payment through Pay-Pal.
